WE ARE A NON-PROFIT, GRASSROOTS ORGANIZATION FOUNDED IN THE SUMMER OF 2019 IN RESPONSE TO RAPID CHANGES IN U.S. IMMIGRATION POLICY.

THOUSANDS OF ASYLUM-SEEKERS HAVE BEEN RETURNED TO MEXICO WITHOUT VITAL RESOURCES OR A CLEAR PATH FORWARD.

Sharing our story.

“KERA's Mallory Falk interviewed representatives from Seguimos Adelante, an El Paso-based nonprofit, who seek to provide basic necessities to asylum seekers in and out of shelters. Carlo, an asylum seeker from Brazil, speaks on the difficult decision to send his daughters across the border on their own, as he waits in legal purgatory.” -KERA News

Seguimos Adelante. Walk On.

What We Do

Our team travels daily from El Paso, Texas to Ciudad Juárez, Mexico to provide asylum-seekers with essential supplies and services. We accompany them as they persist and progress forward in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.

Medical Care
& Shelter Needs

We are in the shelters. We know the asylum-seekers. This makes it easy for them to come to us when needs arise. Whether it be a mother whose insulin was taken from her by CBP or a single man with a prescription he can’t afford—we are there to meet those needs. If a shelter needs a new heating system or help with construction to expand capacity, they know they can call us.

Legal Aid

We are established as an organization that can mobilize quickly and fill many roles. When attorneys need help with pro bono asylum application workshops, they reach out to us. If a shelter director needs a last-minute translation of a police report or an African asylum-seeker needs help translating immigration documents, we are there.

Education
& Healing

By assisting with adult ESL courses or helping children to learn their ABCs, we provide opportunities for families to make the most of a devastating situation. Whether it is providing materials for adult sewing workshops or teaming up with expressive arts therapists to facilitate trauma-informed activities for children, we partner with families to support growth and a regained sense of control.

Transportation

Warranted fear confines asylum-seekers to shelters in a dangerous city where they are among the most vulnerable. When the need arises for a family to leave the shelter, we are there. If it’s a mom and daughter needing to see a psychologist or a bus full of families joining us on a trip to a museum, we provide access to the outside world.
